Abstract
Research Findings: The study confirmed the potential of MAR as an effective tool for water balance regulation in Kazakhstan. Field trials revealed that managed aquifer recharge helps reduce water loss due to evaporation, improve water quality through natural filtration, and mitigate flood risks.
Scientific novelty: This is the first comprehensive assessment of MAR applicability in Kazakhstan in the context of sustainable water resource management. Groundwater recharge models were developed considering the climatic and hydrogeological characteristics of the region. The study demonstrates the possibility of integrating MAR into national water strategies.
Practical significance: Implementing MAR in Kazakhstan will help create strategic water reserves, enhance agricultural resilience to droughts, and minimize flood-related damage. The study provides a scientific basis for developing state programs on water resource management and integrating MAR into the agro-industrial sector.
