THEORETICAL STUDIES OF THE MULCHING PROCESS DURING THE TREATMENT OF NEAR-TRUNK ZONE OF FRUIT TREES

Abstract

In modern intensive gardens, the free part of the aisles is sown with perennial grasses, and the trunk strips are kept under black steam. The strips are sown with siderates. Siderates grown in row spacing are systematically mowed, crushed and, after preliminary compaction, left on the surface of the cultivated land in the form of a section. A section of siderates is rich in nitrogen, proteins, starch, sugars, and trace elements; at the same time, compost forms on the surface, and the soil is protected from erosion and erosion. Plant roots improve the mechanical structure of the soil: a system of root tubules is created that accumulate nitrogen, and they also contribute to the accelerated formation of humus and the accumulation of productive moisture in the upper soil layer for a long period of time.

 The soil in the trunk strips is treated mechanically or with herbicides. However, regardless of the method of processing the trunk strips, it is impossible to provide a moisture reserve without protecting their surface from desiccation. The problem is solved in various ways, including mulching the surface of the trunk strips. Mulching has a positive effect on the physical and mechanical properties of the soil, the preservation of productive moisture and leads to an increase in fruit quality and yield.

 A promising direction is the cultivation of future material for mulching the surface of the trunk strips in the aisles of the garden, tinted with perennial grasses. The lack of technical means for mulching various grasses in the aisles, followed by compaction of the resulting cutting and their distribution on the surface of the treated trunk strips determines the relevance of these studies.
